The question you actually have, asked of everything at once

Nobody thinks "let me check the vehicle directory". They think "what is going on in 332710 in Florida". Answering that has meant opening nine screens and applying the same filter to each, which nobody does, so most of what a supplier is paying for never gets looked at. This is that filter applied once.

Every screen, the same question

Pick a NAICS code, a PSC, an agency, a buying office, a state, a set-aside or just some words. Every source answers it at the same time, on one page, and every block opens the screen that shows the whole of it.

Nothing on the page is a different answer from those screens. It is the same answer, gathered, which is the difference between a product with nine features and a product that tells you something.

The page opens with the capture read of that market, the same read the Recompetes screen opens with. It is written up on the recompete radar.

  • What is open right now, and what closes first
  • What was bought before, and what it went for
  • What ends in the next two years
  • Which vehicles carry the work, because most of it never becomes a notice
  • Which rules are about to change it and which bills fund it
  • What the Department asked Congress for
  • Who was handed work without competition, and when that ends
  • And the contracting people named on the notices

Why this is the screen to open first

Every other screen here is a specialist. The notices screen is the best list of notices you will find, and it cannot tell you that the market it is showing you is held by one incumbent, priced forty per cent under the national median, ordered mostly through a vehicle you are not on, and subject to a proposed rule that closes for comment in nine days.

Those five facts live in five places. A supplier deciding whether to spend a month on something needs all five, and needs them before they start rather than after they lose. So they are on one page, with the filter stated at the top in words so nobody reads it as the whole federal record.

It cannot take the site down

Every block on the page is optional and the cheap ones are drawn first, so a page that is taking too long returns what it has with a line naming what it left out. You see a slightly shorter page. Nobody sees a white screen, and no other member waits behind you.

It carries

The filter follows you

Click through from any block and the filter goes with you, so moving from the summary to the detail never means typing the code again. Come back and it is still there.

That is the whole interconnection, and it is more useful than it sounds: a code, an office and a state applied once is the difference between nine screens and one investigation.
